Dr Sönmez graduated from the medical school (1999) and finished his ophthalmology residency training (2003) at Hacettepe University – Ankara. He did Cornea, Laser refractive surgery fellowship at UCLA (2006). Dr Sönmez became Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in 2009 (OMU) and Professor of Ophthalmology in 2018 (BAU). Dr Sönmez’s main clinical interests are cornea transplantation, laser eye surgeries (LASIK, SMILE, NoTouch), cataract surgery and lens implantation surgeries.
